Answers to questions
How much does L'Math cost?
L'Math is free for personal use on personal devices. The desktop version doesn't contain ads or any other oddities. Schools, organizations and companies are paying a small yearly per-user fee for the software.
Is the editor the same as in matriculation exams?
L'Math uses a fork of the open source rich text editor originally created by MEB. Even though L'Math contains some changes (and even enhancements), the main goal is to keep the editor as similar as possible to the editor used in matriculation exams.
Where did you get the secret Abitti code?
Abitti and Digabi are open source projects.
Does L'Math work on my system?
L'Math works on Windows, macOS and Linux. To be more specific:
- Windows 10 or newer, 64 bit
- macOS Catalina or newer, 64 bit
- Any 64-bit Linux distro that supports AppImages
Does L'Math collect information about me?
L'Math collects anonymous statistics and system information. These details are information about your system, such as CPU model, amount of RAM, OS name and version, and how many times L'Math has been launched.
The information can not be connected to any specific person, and it will be deleted after a specified time. If you don't want to participate in the statistical data collection, feel free to disable the feature in the software settings.
Can I install plugins?
Starting from 1.10, L'Math does not support external plugins. However, one day plugin support could be brought back.
Why can't I paste formulas between L'Math and other programs?
Depending on the program, copying and pasting formulas may or may not work. For example, some CAS applications use different math formats than L'Math, thus formulas will not be understood properly between the different programs.
Could you add feature X or Y to L'Math?
L'Math aims to be a practical tool for preparing and practicing for matriculation exams, so not all extra features may be suitable for it. Otherwise, someone could get used to using features that are not found in the exam.
Currently, the developer of L'Math is already in university, and some features useful in other studies and purposes have been added to L'Math. So feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions!
Who's behind L'Math?
Hi there! 👋 I am Roni Lehto, a mathematics student and teacher-to-be of Nth year from Tampere! The whole circus is ran by me, including coding, marketing, and customer support! I began developing L'Math as a fun project one summer before my matriculation exams, and here we are. More about me and my projects on www.lehtodigital.fi.
How does the Abitti 2 system affect L'Math?
Short answer: Not in any way. The math editor stays the same, thus, L'Math still has a reason to exist.
Longer answer: L'Math is alive and well, and the long-time goal is to develop it to be more coherent with the Abitti 2 system. Furthermore, it would be awesome to include more of the exam system apps into L'Math, making it easier to prep for matriculation exams and course exams (especially in math and related subjects).
